Weekend Shenanigans
This weekend was a busy one. In fact, pretty much every weekend from now until the end of the year is going to be busy, busy, busy. But I'm not complaining!
On Saturday we had my sister Kate's hens night. My Mum had to go to a wedding in the afternoon/evening, so we headed up to her fave cafe at Macarthur Square and had lunch together. I have to admit I do love a good cafe and this one is tops. I'm not sure what the name of it is but it's good, everything on the menu is excellent. I had the chicken Caesar salad which was very good and Punky had a few little bits of chicken tenders and chips. She doesn't get chips very often so when she does she usually loves them, but she is going through a stage at the moment where she puts a piece of food in her mouth, moves it round a bit, then spits it out. Repeatedly. It's really annoying. And that's basically what she did with every piece of food I tried to give her. So I stopped giving her food. And then she sooked at me. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Babies are weird!
After lunch we headed back to Mum's place to get ready for the Hens and wait for Dave to come and get Punky. Thank heavens my step-dad removed the water-limiting thingy-ma-bob from the shower head and there was actually more than a trickle of water coming out, unlike the last time I had a shower there. It's still not a lot of water, but it's enough to at least rinse the bodywash off your body in under a minute!
Once we were all prettied up and my hair was curled, we said goodbye to Dave and Punky and headed back in to C'town to meet everyone for bowling. Bowling was very fun, I am totally hopeless but I enjoy it nonetheless. If only it was like Wii Bowling. I am the queen of Wii bowling! I didn't crack 100 but I finished with a respectable 88 and didn't come last! So that is something to be proud of.
After bowling we headed over to Panarotti's and had the most delicious dinner. There was soooo much food, we ended up having 8 big take-away containers of pasta and the equivalent of 4 pizzas to take home at the end. And everyone was totally stuffed. Like roll across the road stuffed! The people at Panarotti's were kind enough to hold the left-overs for us till they closed so they didn't have to sit in the car for too long while we went across the road for a few drinks at the Tavern.
Kate is not a big drinker, but she had enough people buying her drinks that she got suitably happy. You can't have a hens night and not get at least a little tipsy when you are the bride to be! It was a fabulous evening and the best part was that it was all in the same area so we didn't have to travel far and it was cheap! When I booked most of the stuff I neglected to mention that it was for a hens night so we didn't have to pay for the ridiculously jacked up 'bride' packages. $12 each for bowling and $30 each for all you can eat pizza, pasta, salad and unlimited soft drinks. You don't get much better than that!
Panarotti's was such good value that we are thinking we need to go back and have a family birthday dinner there. I'm sure there is a minimum on the people you need to have before you can get the deal, but seeing as our family is so big I reckon we could do it!
Sunday we had friends come round and the boys went down the road to play golf while we took the little girls in to Richmond to play at the park and got coffee's for the big girls! It was such a beautiful day, I was relieved. After the horrendous weather we had on Thursday and Friday I was worried the day would be rained out but it was beautiful. After the park outing we got some chicken and salad stuff to make for lunch and hung out in the backroom eating and laughing.
We introduced everyone to the joys of the Aldi coffee machine and watched the girls play together. They got along so well, C is 19 months, so a bit older than Punky, and Punky loved following her around and watching what she was doing. C was very loving and gave her lots of hugs and was sharing all the toys with Mia. It was so cute to watch. They looked like sisters, with their similar hair and blue eyes. I think we are going to have to get them together much more often.
So all in all it was an awesome weekend. I got to hang it with my fabulous family and some gorgeous friends in beautiful weather. Life is good! And to top it all off, Dave has today off, so it's been almost like a long weekend. Loving it! I hope everyone else had a lovely weekend and managed to get a bit of fun and relaxing done!
Just in case you were wondering, with my talk of Panarotti's, this is in no way a sponsored post and we didn't get anything for free or anything, I just like to let people know when I have found a nice restaurant.
