I DO!!! I can't hold it back, I so badly wish I was there right now. But alas I'm not. And some of you aren't either. So you should console yourself by reading some top-notch stuff that I found around the place this week...
Sensitivity towards others by Aroha at Colours of Sunset
I think as a race, empathy is one thing humans sorely lack. On the (long) list of characteristics I want my son to have, I want to instill in him, empathy hovers somewhere around the top.I really liked this post from Aroha. It's something that I have thought a lot about in regards to my own life and what I do and don't say online. What I have held back for fear of offending or hurting other people and what I've said that may have unintentionally caused upset to someone.

The Great List of things I can't do because I have daughters by Mike Reynolds
I said to myself, "I should create a List of Things I Can't Do Because I Only Have Daughters and see if there really is something I'm missing."As a mother of two girls, albeit quite young, I can totally relate to this and I love it! Sure there are some things that would be physically impossible to do with girls that you can do with boys, but in my mind, basically everything a parent can do with their boys, they can do with their girls.
I sometimes read posts along the lines of "you're a mother of boys when" or "only Mums of boys will understand", and while I get that their can be some things that are gender unique, most of the time I am reading these posts thinking "Yep, Punky does that. And that. And that. And yep, that too. According to this she must be a boy in disguise." I could get right in to the whole gender politics debate but that is most definitely best left to another post.

What Harry Potter is actually about. Childhood ruined.
The Harry Potter series is about mental illness.And with those opening lines, I read a post that was at once ridiculous, and at seconds totally plausible and made a lot of sense. You have to read it for yourself to understand, and I would love to know what other hardcore Harry Potter fans like myself think of this.
Hogwarts is a mental institution.
Bear with me. I'll explain.

I've been blogging for 8 freaking years by Jessica Hagy (shared by Kelly Exeter on FB).
There’s plenty of room (and money) on the internet for everyone.Again I have the lovely Kelly Exeter to thank for sharing something that I just absolutely loved (I've got the biggest girl crush going on for Kelly right now, everything she has written or shared lately has been exactly what I have needed! Like this decision I made earlier in the week). Basically this post boils down everything I've thought about blogging for a while now, and I just want to print it off and stick it on the wall of my new office (in about 5 years time, which is how long it's probably gonna take me to get it organised!). I totally think this should be emailed to every person when they first start a blog too. Good stuff.
