The One Thing... // Life
The lovely Kelly Exeter did this on her blog a little while ago and invited everyone to play along, so here we go...
The one thing I should do less often is:
Stay up until 2 in the morning on the computer. I've always been a night-owl but lately I've been taking it to extremes. It doesn't help that Punky is not so great in the going to bed and staying asleep thing, so by the time there is peace it's almost 11pm some nights and I just want to "get this one thing done". The one thing that turns in to about 10!
The one thing I should do more often is:
Switch off the computer and go to bed! Or maybe clean the house. However cleaning is nowhere near as enjoyable so I will just have to live in a trashed house for a while longer yet!
The one thing that always makes me smile is:
Watching the girls play with each other or their Dad. There are no words to describe the sheer joy that fills my heart when I listen to Dave and the girls playing together. I've made some pretty shitty choices in my life but marrying Dave and having his children is most definitely not one of them. In fact it's probably the single best decision I've ever made!
The one thing that does my head in is:
When people drive in the overtaking lane and don't freaking overtake! Oh my gosh does it kill me! Get out of the fucking lane!!!
The one thing I should eat more of is:
Vegetables. To be fair, since I started doing Lite n Easy I have become much better at this (there's no choice when over a third of the meal is veggies!) but even when I'm not having a LnE dinner I have made more of an effort to eat them. I starting to recognise the good it does my body as I get older.
The one thing I can do to make the world a better place is:
Raise girls who are respectful and empathetic to their fellow human beings.
The one thing I need to remind myself is:
I am better than I think I am. To believe in myself. To take risks and chances and learn from the mistakes.
The one thing I should do for myself right now is:
Be kind. I might not be the perfect mother but I do my best and that has to count for something.
The one thing I should say ‘no’ more often to is:
Self doubt. I need to tell that bitch to get on her bike, she's not needed here!
The one thing I should say ‘yes’ more often to is:
The girls requests to go to the park. I know how much they love it, and how much happier we all are for getting outside in the fresh air on a regular basis. But it's the park. I might love it more when they create automatic swings that I don't have to push for an hour!
So tell me, what's one thing that does your head in or always makes you smile? Feel free to play along and let me know in the comments so I can check it out (and let Kelly know too!).

You know one thing that makes me insanely happy is when people speak of their partners with such love and respect. I love seeing love.
Also when did Zee grow up?
