One Perfect Moment {Shopping Sisters}

One Perfect Moment is all about those moments, big or small, that make you wish they'd last forever. Those moments you want to stop in time, when everything feels perfect, even for just a split-second. Snapshots of the mind. Moments to treasure forever.

On Saturday I spent the day with my sister. That's nothing out of the ordinary, but what was out of the ordinary was that the day was child-free. I left the kids with Dave, and headed to Penrith Westfield. By the usual standards it was a pretty normal day, a normal thing to do, go shopping.

We talked. We laughed. We had lunch. We bought handbags. We went to the markets. We ate snow cones.

I was relaxed. Happy.

I'm so lucky to be able to call my sister my friend. To be able to share things with her that I don't share with others. To know that she loves me, no matter how horrible or bitchy I can be.

As we were walking along the riverfront at the markets, eating our snow cones, I had one of those moments where I realised that life was good. That I was happy. I want to remember that moment forever.

Because that is where happiness comes from.

One perfect moment in the chaos of life.

Have you had a perfect moment this week? Want to share?

Every Monday I'll be sharing my one perfect (or imperfect!) moment from the week as a way to practice gratitude and reflect on the small (or big!) moments of happiness in life. If you'd like to join me by sharing your moment in words or pictures, I'll add a linky to next week's post. I'd love to visit you and share in your perfect moments.

I LOVE when I catch myself in those moments. They seem to have become increasingly more rare since having kids because my mind is usually split between an excessive number of thoughts and tasks all happening simultaneously. I had a nice moment yesterday. Coming back from the airport in the car, I saw the mountains and got the warm fuzzies. It felt like home.

How wonderful that you recognised the moment for what it was! I have three sisters and I am very grateful for that because they are my best friends and as you said - they love me no matter what! :-)

This is lovely. It's so important to remember those special moments, sometimes they really are just the little things that others take for granted. That's one of the reasons I started a gratitude journal this year so I can look back and remind myself of those simple things that mean so much to me.

Love this. I've had a number of perfect or near perfect moments with the girls on holidays and some rather chaotic ones as well. I went for the more chaotic one on the blog today.

I love this whole concept. Today it was watching my kids play non stop with my sister. She is back from WA and they absolutely think she is the best. I will do my best to join in on the link. I think its a great idea.

Such a great idea to practice gratitude Kylie! Now you have got me thinking about my last week...not sure I can pinpoint one! will have to be more 'aware' this week!

Sounds like a perfect day without your kids. I went fishing on Sunday. I hung out on the jetty for six hours and caught fish. Not everyones cup of tea, but I needed that down time. I had some special days with my girls earlier in the week. We had a very relaxed time at the beach.

Love this idea of sharing a perfect moment every Monday! It's all about enjoying the moment.... I've become very appreciative lately and started the New Year with a new outlook: Being happy, being grateful for what I have, being positive and happy. Can't wait to hear more of your perfect moments !

My perfect moment was just after I'd done a gym class for the first time in a VERY long time, it was the best feeling and all the anxiety I had before it vanished and my confidence grew. I have a similar relationship with my sister and although we don't see each other often, when we do, it's the best.
Snow cones!!! OMG I so want one now. Perfect moment for me was yesterday when my two younger boys woke up to find their older brother was home from a week away. Stacks on and my heart melted xx
Gorgeous idea Kylie. Many perfect moments fill up our days but we can so easily brush them aside. Nothing like hanging out and laughing with a sister.

I've never had a snow cone before!! I love those moments too. We had a few on our recently camping trip even though it ended in total disaster. You're very lucky to have your sister so close by xx

My perfect moment was swimming in a rough sea with the kids, loving our brave selves immensely. x

I love those perfect moments. I had one, walking along the beach in the sunshine with my girls and hubby, we were all splashing our toes in the water and the girls were giggling and we were all happy, no complaints.
