Hello Sun {We've missed you!} | Life

It feels like it's been raining forever. It's only been about a week and a half of wet weather, but when you have young children, even one rainy day can feel like a lifetime. I don't know about you, but in our family, spending time outside isn't just something we love to do, it's something we need to do.

There's just something so liberating about spending time in the great outdoors, even if that outdoors is simply your own backyard. Feeling the sun on your skin, the breeze in your hair, it's invigorating, and it's guaranteed to calm everyone down. At least in this house it is!

Between the ridiculously hot, record-breaking summer, and now the non-stop rain, our backyard-time has been sorely limited. So when the sun finally peeked it's nose out from behind the clouds on Sunday afternoon, we didn't care that the grass was as high as Zee's knees, the girls and I were outside quicker than you could say "it's raining cats & dogs!".
