Shooting through 2017 {October} | #52weekproject
I remember back at tafe in 2015 saying to someone that there was no way I was ever going to shoot weddings. I simply couldn't imagine anything more stressful. Fast forward two years and here I am, having just spent the weekend shooting my 5th wedding.
I honestly thought it was something I just wouldn't do, and yet now that I've started, I find I love it! They're so much fun! I thrive under the pressure, and nothing beats getting to hang out with fun couples on one of the biggest days of their lives.
It definitely takes a toll on the body though, that's for sure. I don't care how fit you are, being on your feet for 12 hours straight with 10kgs worth of camera gear hanging off you is no easy feat! I spent most of Sunday hobbling around while I waited for my editing system to ingest all of the photos. The worst part though is when you first arrive home after the wedding. You've just spent a whole day moving around, and then you go from 100 to zero, sitting in your car for an hour with no real cool-down, and the struggle to walk the few metres from the car to the house is REAL!
I know I'm not alone in this, as I've seen the discussion in my photography groups about the post-wedding shuffle that it seems is universally performed by wedding photographers. It makes me feel a little better to know that my fellow photogs feel my pain! All of that aside, I'm being totally honest, one of the best things about shooting a wedding is the food. I've been lucky that every wedding I've worked at so far has provided me with a pretty delicious meal. It beats a packed sandwich any day of the week!
Anyway, enough about my tired, post-wedding body. Due to the brain-mush factor I'm going to share October's 52 week project photos because I really need to get back to wedding photo editing asap. I can't wait to share the wedding photos with you all, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy these photos instead...
